If using our roadmap process (recommended for enterprise implementations), much of the business analysis will already be complete and the Strategic Requirements Document (SRD) from the roadmap will feed directly into the Discovery Process. In Discovery, we perform an in-depth analysis to define the detail requirements for implementation through the following activities. The next step of the process is to adjust our pre-built data models to meet these requirements.
Unlike most information gathering analysis, the Millbrook Discovery does not gather staff together for question and answer sessions where the user defines needs (real or perceived) and Millbrook then responds to that need with a solution. In the Millbrook solution, Millbrook's analysts work directly with individual users in multiple functions, at multiple levels to deeply understand the drivers that allow that person to succeed in their objectives.
Millbrook's analysts will identify data sources and transformation logic and processes. The company's business rules will be evaluated and applied to derive data fields and overall recommended data model design. Millbrook's base data models will be evaluated against the results of the business analysis phase to identify modifications required.
The result of the business and data analyses is the Business Requirements Document. Sections will include detail of the discovery phase, detail of the proposed solution, and gap analysis. Source to target mapping identified during data analysis will be included for verification that the data models accurately reflect the company's business rules and logic. Millbrook will include recommendations for user configuration based on user input for today and accommodation for future business requirements. This document serves as the blueprint for the remaining project processes.
