Alerts are implemented to notify the user when the actual value for a key performance indicator is outside of the acceptable range established in the business rules. Alerts monitor business performance against objectives defined by the key performance indicator. Information stored in the EDW is used to continually monitor change and generate alerts and push them to the appropriate user for response.
