SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)
|
Millbrook believes the incorporation of decision disciplines such as predictive analytics, spatial mapping, and text analytics into the business process flow in real-time is eminent. SOA promises to deliver that capability.
However, for services to be truly plug-and-play, they will require persistent data to be kept out of the services themselves and stored in an enterprise operational repository designed specifically for this purpose. Business intelligence tools will need to access this repository when needing real-time transactional level data. When needing aggregate or cross-functional data, business intelligence tools will still need to use an enterprise data warehouse designed and optimized specifically for that purpose. The enterprise operational repository will need to seamlessly update the enterprise data warehouse to maintain synchronicity.
Millbrook’s strategy is to ensure the complete “data loop” is achieved. That data loop is: real-time retrieval of business intelligence data within the orchestration of business functions, storage of persistent data at the logical completion of an orchestration (an enterprise transaction), committed enterprise transactions into the data warehouse, and finally completing the loop as accessible data back to real-time business intelligence, or traditional business intelligence.
Millbrook is developing an additional enterprise repository to store and retrieve committed enterprise transactions, a seamless automated feed from the new repository to our existing enterprise data warehouse offering, and the ability to access both via web services, or traditional business intelligence tools.
Millbrook believes we are far ahead of other vendors in thinking through these new paradigms and why choosing Millbrook is advantageous in positioning our clients well with these emerging and eminent technologies.
